Amberton Beach Development, WA
The Amberton Beach estate development area within the suburb of Eglinton aims at generating a coastal lifestyle environment for current and future residents. The residential zone, east of the coastal zone is reasonably developed and further amenities are being provided to support the local residents. The proposed Child Care Centre is one of them.
Amberton Beach Child Care Centre is the initial development of the nominated Neighbourhood and Town Centre Precinct which will potentially include a convenience base supermarket, gymnasium, and medical centre with speciality retail shops and cafes.
The concrete slab has been poured and construction of the external blockwork walls has commenced on site. Through collaboration between the builder Dale Alcock Projects, Fast Brick Robotics (FBR) and i2C blockwork cavity external walls were implemented into the project during design documentation. The blockwork walls will be constructed onsite using FBRs revolutionary block laying robot, Hadrian X.
The child care centre design emphasises the coastal setting and acknowledges the remnants of the ‘barque’ ship using light tones in opal polycarbonate cladding, white rendered masonry brick resonating light, and sandy and ship sail connotations. The timber finished façade sections reflect the outdoor lifestyle, beach driftwood and the hull of the ship.
The childcare centre’s functionality meets national regulations, as well as the day to day needs of the operators. Secure zones and safety are paramount in spatial planning, access and egress. The spaces allocated to children within each age bracket are in accordance with current regulations and have optimum visual security for the carers.
