Bankstown Central The Grand Market Grand Opening
i2C was engaged to design and deliver the revitalised fresh food market, for Bankstown Central. This is the first stage in Vicinity Centres’ vision to transform the heart of Bankstown’s town centre into a vibrant mixed-use neighbourhood where the community can work, stay, dine and shop.
The Grand Market includes speciality retailers, a brand-new Coles supermarket and artisan food stores to meet the needs of the diverse community.
The development included the relocating the council bus interchange to enable the construction of a new 150 bay carpark for the new Coles store. i2C designed a new travelator lobby to connect the new carpark to Coles and the fresh food precinct outside the supermarket entry, as well as new amenities, parents room and a Changing Places Facility for Coles customers.
The redesign included a new fashion precinct situated directly above the new fresh food market and Coles store. i2C designed the Uniqlo, Glue and Footlocker layout along with a new escalator lobby to connect the two levels.
Local council and the state government were pleased with the relocated Bus Precinct, which assists in customers easily accessing public transport and connecting the future metro to the centre more safely.
Coles are excited to bring their new store to Bankstown Central and were pleased the process went smoothly from concept to opening.
Bankstown Central showcases a modern fashion precinct with leading fashion retailers Glue and Uniglo for the community to enjoy. The Grand Market is an exciting milestone that establishes Bankstown Central as the go-to retail and fresh food destination.
