Team Building 2022

In the past, it’s been relatively easy for us to bring the teams from each studio together for a team building weekend, but COVID put these plans on hold for the last few years.

The last Team Building weekend was in 2019 which seems like such a long time ago. This year, we jumped at the opportunity to bring everyone together to reconnect away from the office.

We opted to head back to Quandamooka Country | Morton island, in Queensland for some warm weather and beachside fun. There was a lot more to navigate this time with the constant changes to flight schedules and team members testing positive, but we managed to get 70% of the team away for two days.

The Team Building weekend gives everyone an opportunity to hear from the senior team. We reaffirm our values, celebrate key milestones that we’ve achieved and look at what our goals are for the future. It reminds us of who we are and why we do what we do. We’d had quite a number of newbies start since the last event in 2019, so it was great to meet in person and have real conversations with each other.

Unfortunately, the weather didn’t work with our plans for most of the weekend, so we switched the architectural sandcastle competition out for an indoor spaghetti/marshmallow building challenge. Luckily the rain stopped, and the sun dried out the pristine dunes, just in time for any thrill seekers to see how fast they could toboggan down the steep slopes.
