Warrawong Plaza Shopping Centre
Warrawong Plaza sits on a prime 7-hectare corner along Wollongong’s main roads. The shopping centre has been a key part of the local retail scene, offering great convenience to the community.
This phase in the continued Warrawong Plaza refurbishment has focused on upgrades to the Eastern precinct of the site, improving access and offers available to the local Wollongong community. These works have seen tenancy reconfigurations with the removal of Target and the refurbishment of Rebel alongside the introduction of another major supermarket with a full line Woolworths complete with ‘direct to boot’ and ‘eStore’ capabilities. The centre has also received carpark upgrades with new shade sails to the rooftop parking and general mall upgrades inclusive of new travelator access from the under-croft parking to the ground floor mall.
i2C’s role in the project included design, documentation and construction services
The Woolworths supermarket has been designed to accommodate an automated micro-fulfilment network as part of its eStore service. This technology will improve the speed and efficiency in which online orders can be processed to keep up with the ever-growing demand. Warrawong Plaza will be the first Woolworths eStore in NSW.
With the addition of Woolworths, Warrawong Plaza sets itself apart as the premier fresh food destination in the local community, offering a unique shopping experience with Woolworths, ALDI, Coles, and Country Grocer all conveniently located under one roof,
