Dickson Village opens
It was great to see the new Dickson Village launch on 20 September 2023. Our team at i2C were engaged by both the developer TP Dynamics and Coles Group to design, document and deliver the new Coles and Liquorland stores with basement parking and Click & Collect spaces.
Working in collaboration with BDH Projects and all consultants from development approval, we could bring i2C’s retail expertise to the table finding solutions prior to construction.
The Dickson Village mixed-use development faced a design overhaul with the City Renewal Authority seeking to give the area a new look and make it more connected to the locals.
As part of the six-storey building, 140 build-to-rent (BTR) apartments located over the retail level will meet the demand of the very tight Canberra rental market and capitalise on opportunities in the growing BTR sector.
The centre is anchored by Coles latest full-line supermarket concept with Liquorland leased to 2035 and has an additional ten food and services bases specialty shops.
The new-look Coles supermarket includes a range of innovative features, including grab-and-go convenience meals for young professionals and families, a large new deli with a selection of Australian and international cheese, an extensive seafood section, and a fresh pet food scoop-and-weigh station.
There will also be an open-front bakery and a frozen dessert bar, which has proved popular in Sydney and Melbourne stores.
The store will also support several local community groups, including Guide Dogs and food rescue organisation SecondBite, which distributes unsold, edible food to Canberra City Care to help those in need.
