DOCUMENTATION TO CONSTRUCTION
i2C was engaged to produce a master plan, concept and development application for the site, extending to the main centre (excluding childcare), becoming the lead consultant and delivered stages from documentation to construction for the interior and exterior components of the development.
DRAWING ON THE RURAL CHARACTER OF THE AUSTRALIAN VERNACULAR
The design references gable and skillion roof forms and restrained architectural detailing. The selected material palette integrates the locally quarried stone and the regimented forms of the external environment.
DESIGNED TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY ACTIVITY
The built form arrangement throughout the site had strong reliance on pedestrian connection with surrounding parks, residential areas and community areas.
The town square is a main, centralised pillar of the development, both functionally and geographically. It is designed to support activity throughout the day while also responding to the movement and orientation of the sun.
Informed by Sustainable Management Principles
Throughout the development, we incorporated key initiatives from the Sustainability Management Plan in collaboration with the consultant team. These principles directly informed the built form and were integrated into the documentation to enhance the overall delivery and operation of the development.
Key considerations included water and stormwater management, energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, sustainable transport and urban ecology.
