Redstone Hill, one of Villawood Properties latest developments aptly named due to its hilly surroundings and vast country landscape has recently been lodged with council.
In close proximity to Sunbury Township and located 40km from Melbourne CBD and 12km from Melbourne’s largest airport, this exciting new development consists of a total yield of more than 2000 hectares – 9 hectares of which is allocated to its town centre retail district currently under town planning by i2C.
The retail development consist of 4 built stages bringing its ultimate area to approx. 30,000sqm. The brief was to create a country village mimicking those of Sunbury’s current township, with its wide open streets featuring wider grassed nature strips and reduced use of concrete kerbs, softer undulating paths, more generous spaces, and traditional building materials. The colours and materials of Redstone Hill and Jacksons Creek and the surrounding natural environment were also important factors in the design of this development.
Redstone Hill’s new Town Centre presents a significant opportunity for i2C not just in advancement of our portfolio but also the new challenges that it brings in developing architecture that embeds itself in the community.
