Waurn Ponds Development in construction

Waurn Ponds Bulky Goods Development is a 13,500m2 bulky goods project creating 11 separate retail tenancies within 4 buildings, surrounding a central car park of 329 cars.

The buildings are precast concrete construction featuring a special broom finish and colourful vertical bands, canopies and branding/signage.

The site has been tricky for the builders with the majority of the site made up of uncompacted fill so there are close to 1000 screw piles that have had to be used for the foundations. The one in 100 year rains didn’t help the situation either.

The builders have pushed through these hurdles and are now making ground with the panels going up at a steady pace giving form to the building.
