B Corp Assembly 2024
In December 2022, i2C proudly became a B Corp-certified company and committed to future sustainability. We are grateful to be part of a community of inspirational companies that are working to make positive and lasting changes on the planet.
In February, Purpose Director Claire Bowles joined people from other B Corp companies from across Australia and New Zealand for Assembly 2024. B Corp Assembly was designed as a catalyst for change and a platform to take courageous steps for a more equitable, sustainable and regenerative future.
Over the three-days at Cape Schanck, Claire spent time with fellow B Corps and social enterprises in discussions and workshops tackling some of the key issues we each face was invaluable. The gathering was timely given new B Corp standards on the horizon and the growing urgency for systems change and collaboration like never before.
A few of Claire’s key takeaways from the weekend included:
- The potential for systems transformation is real and requires collaboration.
- The B Corp movement has a responsibility to embed reconciliation into everything we do.
- We need to be a strong Indigenous ally and embrace the concept of the 100-year business plan.
- We need to make regeneration the party everyone wants to be at.
- We need to use our collective to open-source best practices and invite collaboration with other like-minded people and businesses.
- We need to use our voice to advocate for policy change.
- Diversity of values, perspectives, and insights are needed to lift, challenge and help us grow.
- Be human, listen deeply and build trusting relationships.
“We came together in a way that was nourishing and filled the soul and built what will be lasting relationships into the future.” Claire Bowles.
