Best Master Planned Community project

i2C is honoured to announce that University Hill was awarded a respected Property Council of Australia Innovation and Excellence Award for the Best Master Planned Community.

i2C was proud to be associated with the owner and developer, MAB Corporation along with the other members of the project team. The project encompassed multiple disciplines and focused on transforming a redundant site to establish a vibrant mixed use community. i2C is extremely pleased that University Hill has been awarded the Best Master Planned Community and is recognised as an architectural benchmark for innovative High Street style developments.

University Hills wins Best Master Planned Community

University Hill has been achieved through a collaborative approach with the City of Whittlesea and a MAB Specialist Development Team that has been focused on creating a product that will aspire to international best design benchmarks for urban communities.

The development recognises the surrounding knowledge precincts with RMIT and La Trobe Universities neighbouring the site and this has also been reflected in naming the site University Hill.

University Hill has been built on five distinct usages designed to integrate to deliver one coherent community. The five distinct usages are retail, lifestyle, business, community; and environment.

University Hill features a street-based town centre that will be the economic and lifestyle hub of the development and an inner city main street shopping and entertainment environment. The town centre includes a major brand outlet concept store named Brand Junction which includes 60 leading brand names across fashion; footwear; homewares; sporting; and lifestyle retail categories.

Brand Junction is supported by a cosmopolitan main street offering, convenience shopping and a leisure and entertainment precinct that includes a range of leisure-related retail outlets, restaurants, cafes and bars as well as a cinema complex.

The residential component at University Hill includes a range of townhouses, apartments, student accommodation and high-quality detached housing.

The business park has been built at both the northern and southern points of the development.

Maintaining a strong sense of community has been a key consideration in the development process of University Hill. It is a place where the community can meet friends, gather, work, live, shop, dine out and simply relax.
