Warrawong Plaza Expansion

Warrawong Plaza Expansion

This phase in the continued Warrawong Plaza expansion focused on upgrades to the Eastern precinct of the site, improving access and offers available to the local Wollongong community.

These works have seen tenancy reconfigurations with the removal of Target and the refurbishment of Rebel Sport alongside the introduction of another major supermarket with a full line Woolworths complete with ‘direct to boot’ and ‘eStore’ capabilities. The centre has also received carpark upgrades with new shade sails to the rooftop parking and general mall upgrades inclusive of new travelator access from the under-croft parking to the ground floor mall.

i2C’s role in the project included design, documentation and construction services.

As part of the Warrawong Plaza expansion the Woolworths supermarket has been designed to accommodate an automated micro-fulfilment network as part of its eStore service. This is the first eStore in NSW, the technology will improve the speed and efficiency in which online orders can be processed to keep up with the ever-growing demand.
